Between Nhlanhla and Samantha, BBHotshots from South Africa

South Africa's contestants in the Big Brother Africa Series 9 are a tad different from their past representatives. They are fairly quiet and certainly well composed, even in the relationships (?) that they are seemingly nurturing in the BBA House.

Many fans must remember feisty and fashionable Lerato,  handsome and mischievous Luclay, Keagan Baba the 2012 winner of BBA, Angelo the dance instructor, Thami that threw out meat supplies over the fence, and Barbs the beautiful international model. These South African housemates never ceased to entertain us!

With this year's choice of contestants, it's like there is a deliberate attempt at a deviation.

Nhlanhla, a model and actor is always the calm collected guy. And though in his profile he claims to be " “eccentric, narcissistic, energetic and spiritual", many of us are yet to see his narcissistic qualities. Perhaps he may truly be self-important but it's certainly not evident. He just comes across as a nice and sweet guy, or what do you think?

Could Nhlanhla be "flying under the radar"? Or is this simply his nature or his strategy? One of his favourite books is Animal Farm by George Orwell. Could it be that this South African Hotshot truly understands the dynamics behind the Orwellian Theory.

We shall wait patiently, and watch closely this SA Hotshot that can disarm you with a warm mien.

Samantha, the other SA housemate seems a bit more difficult to fathom. Of course, this is my opinion of the beautiful BBHotshot with a lovely smile. When she does smile that is.

Probably because she used to be a law student, she appears to tread carefully and softly, also "flying below the radar". Samantha claims to be “adventurous, witty and honest” and in turn values such qualities in others.

There seems to be some kind of bond between her and Idris, one that many fans are reading to mean a budding romance. Many of us believe otherwise . . . it's like she is trying to help Idris straighten himself out over his 'love' for Goitse issue.

Will Samantha ever entertain us? Will she unveil herself as the show unfolds? Time will tell. It is a good thing that neither of the two housemates are up for eviction this week.
